Comatec & ESAT: a partnership taking a new turn

Comatec – ESAT partnership

Since its founding in 1994, Comatec has made the professional inclusion of people with disabilities a core pillar of its social commitment.
In collaboration with AFDAIM-ADAPEI 11 and four partner ESAT centers (Pennautier, Rieux-Minervois, Limoux, and Jules-Fil in Carcassonne), nearly 125 workers with disabilities contribute daily to our operations.
Today, the Comatec–ESAT partnership takes a significant step forward with the signing of a new storage agreement with the ESAT of Pennautier, strengthening a relationship that spans over 30 years.
More than just a contract, this is a concrete commitment to sustainable inclusion, built on shared values, collaborative actions, and a common vision of meaningful work.

Why commit to an ESAT partnership ?

The inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce remains a major societal challenge.
While legislation has advanced (disability laws, employment quotas, adapted enterprises), access to meaningful, fulfilling work remains limited for many.

ESATs (French Work Assistance Establishments) play a key role by providing a structured, supportive, and professional work environment tailored to individual needs.
By building strong partnerships with these organizations, companies like Comatec contribute to:

  • Strengthening workers’ autonomy and skills

  • Creating genuine social value through their business activities

  • Aligning their CSR commitments with tangible, impactful actions

By integrating these efforts into the core of our value chain, we make inclusion a true driver of responsible performance.

A Partnership That’s Evolving

The partnership between Comatec and its ESAT partners began with simple tasks such as cutlery bagging.
Over the years, the skills of ESAT teams have expanded, and so have the projects:

  • Assembly of meal trays

  • Product packaging

  • Inserting crates into our woodboxes

  • Labeling and palletizing

  • Transport to our site

  • And today, logistics and storage management through a new agreement with the ESAT of Pennautier

This partnership combines industrial efficiency, quality of service, and strong social impact.

But beyond operational tasks, we are also committed to developing professional skills:
Comatec supports the interregional RSFP program (Recognition of Professional Skills) and participates as a jury member to help recognize and validate the know-how of ESAT workers.
