Acacia wood

Acacia is a dense wood species with a naturally dark colour and a distinctive grain. On a table, it contrasts with light-coloured containers and makes pale cheeses or charcuterie stand out.

It is also a wood that ages well with use, which matters for a support that you bring out for every event. Think of it as equipment rather than a consumable. The boards have the same width across the different lengths, so you can align them end to end without creating an uneven line along a table. Lay flat or add height

On a flat table setting, guests tend to serve themselves from the front row. What is at the back often ends up going back to the kitchen untouched.

That is why this category includes two types of products. The board is placed directly on the table and holds appetisers, cheeses, charcuterie or fruit. The support is placed underneath to create a raised level. The same support can actually provide two different heights depending on whether it is placed flat or on its edge, avoiding the need to buy two different references to add dimension to a table.

The board can also be placed on risers made from the same type of wood, keeping a consistent colour throughout the table. Mixing two different types of wood on the same buffet is immediately noticeable, especially under warm lighting.

One point to be aware of before loading the board: some supports have a smooth surface without an anti-slip treatment. On a slippery tablecloth or when a board is loaded on one side only, check its stability before letting go. Presentation trays provide the same solution when you prefer an enclosed support.

The perforated side for sticks and mini forks

You are arranging bite-sized appetisers that need to be picked up with a stick. The sticks roll around on the board, guests have to search for them and half of them end up on the tablecloth.
